Lithology and Thickness
The group consists of low-grade metamorphosed volcanic clastic rocks. It is subdivided into lower and upper formation complexes on the basis of the characteristics of the lithological assemblage. Lower formation complex is composed of low-grade metamorphosed intermediate basic volcanic rock, volcaniclastics and clastic rock, accompanied with some layers of limestone. It is recorded to about 1000 m thickness. Upper formation complex is phyllite sandwiched with clastic rock, metamorphosed volcaniclastics and minor iron ore. It is about 800 m thick. It is laterally quite changeable both in lithological character and thickness. It is thickening from east to west and simultaneously the volcanic rock decreases (thins), but the clastic rock increases (thickens). The total thickness is up to 2000 m.
